My crochet hook and I have come a long way since 2013 when my business started with my "Many Ways to Wear" Necklaces.
I now have over 100 products in my online store and most of them are available from my Ebay Shop.
With the development of yarns for use in water a couple of years ago, it made sense to add soaps to my product range of pamper products as well.
All unscented, no nasties, batch traceable and certified. And over 60 different moulds to choose from.
This also meant that my name Craft Illusion, which related crochet was also in need of change so Mounts Bay Crafts seemed apt and I even managed to obtain a sought after ".com" web address too. 😀
Nearly all of my products are small enough to fit through a letterbox so I am able to allow for 2nd Class Large Letter postage to be included in my prices.
Whilst on the subject of pricing, I can almost guarantee that no one makes much profit from making and selling crochet products.
It cannot be machine made and if it was priced at minimum wage it would be too expensive.
Factor in materials, packaging, website & Ebay costs and postage. My selling price would be 5 times higher.
For a lot of us it's a hobby first and a business second. In my case I enjoy making things and selling them is a bonus.
So when you're looking for a little gift made with love, spare a thought for the small businesses. We put service over price.
Thank you to all my customers who have supported me over the last 11 years. XX
Here's to the next 11 years XX
